September is a month for Art

I love supporting local artists.  Around our cottages you will find original artwork from artists that I know.  In our Spa room you will find a wonderful collection of local art that we also offer for sale.  There are some very talented people here in Somerset.  This month sees the Somerset Art Works happen again.   With over 300 artists involved it is now the country’s largest Open Studios event.  It runs from the 18th September to the 3rd of October and takes place in a range of private and pop-up studios.
Heart of the Tribe gallery in Glastonbury are hosting an exhibition of one of my favourite local artists Emma Housley (below is the original we have hanging in our Spa reception)

We have the new Glastonbury Way walk which is a  7.5 mile circular walk around the pilgrimage sites of Glastonbury.  You can start it from our back field at the old oak trees Gog and Magog or go to the very start which is up on Glastonbury Tor.

There is a new restaurant in town called Queen of Cups.  Try them out this month.

Another new favourite of ours is The Crown at Pilton with their great weekend Barbeques and Wings Wednesday.

The Sheppey Restaurant in Godney is worth booking a table at.  Amazing food and a very unique experience.

Hire an electric Bike from Somerton Bike Hire and cycle to the wonderful nature reserve Avalon Marshes Centre.

For the more adventurous of  you.  Try out Wild Wookey.  A 3 hour caving adventure.

Heart of The Tribe Gallery is a great new Art Gallery in town with some fantastic art.  Make sure and visit their pop up gallery in our Spa Lounge.

Somerset Rural Life Museum has lots of kids activities on this month.
